GET INVOLVED
Looking to get involved at Plain View? Then you're in the right place.
MEMBERSHIP
MEMBERSHIP CLASS
First, attend a Membership Class. Membership at Plain View is not a formality, but a meaningful two-way commitment. On your part, it is a commitment to our family. On Plain View's part, it is a commitment to you. Attending the class does not make you a member of Plain View, but is required if intending to become a member. You can look for upcoming membership classes on our events page.
FAITH
Second, following your membership class, you’ll be invited to meet with a Plain View leader for a membership interview. Don’t worry—this is simply a time for us to get to know your story more personally and answer any questions you may have about our church. This will also be a time to tell us your faith story. In other words, how and when did you meet Jesus? We consider salvation to be essential to church membership. So, we would love for you to share with us how you came to faith in Jesus.
BAPTISM
And third, join this family of faith by either affirming your baptism or by being baptized. We believe that in order for a baptism to be biblical, it must have two parts:
Part 1: Baptism is after you receive God's free gift of saving grace. Baptism is a picture of you being united with Jesus. So, if you were baptized before you personally put faith in Jesus, we would like discuss what the Bible tells us about baptism.
Part 2: Baptism means to be put under water. Baptism becomes a more accurate picture of how Jesus saves us when we go under water because Jesus was all the way dead and then He came all the way back to life. That is the picture of baptism. We are united with Jesus as He died for us (going under the water), and we are united with Jesus as He was raised from the dead (coming up out of the water).
*If you haven’t placed your faith in Jesus, we would still love to hear from you. We can answer questions and talk more about what it means to be a Christian. You can also learn more here.
Bible studies
Plain View offers two ways to study the Bible and grow spiritually by attending Bible Studies on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. On Sunday mornings we have various groups of people that represent all ages. On Wednesday nights, we gather for study and prayer together.
